Matthew Dickson was a person who came across my radar, and I was absolutely intrigued with his story . He led an average childhood, and during his university years, unbeknownst to him, he was developing schizophrenia. he bicycled across Canada when he was 20, but the disease hit hard at 22.It took him 27 years, but he successfully recovered from it, and now he helps other people with mental illness, primarily in developing countries. He wants to show people how to become less apathetic and become advocates for causes. The world needs so much more help. When he was suffering from mental illness, my heart went out to people with mental illness who live in extreme poverty or in war-torn countries.https://www.mindaid.ca

Lady J is an Author, Youth/Family Mentor, Transformational Speaker, BounceBackologist, Business Coach, Media Personality, Serial Entrepreneur, and Community Servant Leader. She has degrees in Business Management and Psychology; is a Certified Tailor, Certified PSA, and is working towards a Masters in Psychology. When I was reading her story and it said that she was the definition of a person of someone who bounced back, and is resilient, I was very intrigued, but also it didn't take me long to realize that statement was the truth. With multiple suicide attempts, being molested, homelessness, being abandoned, being raped, suffering from a brain aneurysm, and even having a child with a disability, she has seem to have gone through it all. I really admire how strong she is, and I'm so glad she's doing better in her life now

Lorraine Lewis was a person who caught my eye based on her journey with her and her son, who is considered mentally retarded, and how she would like to make some changes within the government to help provide more resources, and change some laws for those parents with children with intellectual disabilities. I do not want to spoil what happens at the end, what is this journey of our son getting into trouble, and getting out of trouble, and getting back into trouble, and how his disability plays a huge part, in why Lorraine wants to change some laws for those with his condition.

The tenacious AGAPE
Tuesday Dec 20, 2022
Tuesday Dec 20, 2022
One of the things you pick up on right away with agape is her amazing personality, upbeat attitude, and her feistiness. She started her slogan be your incredible self, to motivate women and others who have gone through trauma all over the world. She survived a double homicide while she was eight months pregnant by the father of the baby. And that's just one part of our story, there are many hurdles and obstacles, trauma, pain physical, and mental that appear throughout her journey. When you listen to her story about neglect, childhood trauma, pretty much living on the streets of Chicago on your own as a young girl, and doing whatever it takes to survive, it is heart wrenching, but the comeback story makes it all worth it. She is one of the strongest people I've ever met, and we should all be proud of her resilience, and inner strength

Mr. C’s adventure

Tuesday Dec 13, 2022
This episode is with Mark Chartier, and when we first started to talk I instantly knew that he was a good guy based on the energy he gave off. As a kid, he acted out poorly in school and had different tics and movements that weren't entirely understood until later in life. When he was finally diagnosed they told him he had Tourette's syndrome, and his life goes this was only the beginning of his journey, because later he end up suffering a brain injury that caused him to have a huge stutter, but all in all, he did not let that stop him either. He remembered all the people who helped him over his journey and when he thought back to those people they all had a common theme, and that made him get into the special education field by becoming a teacher. And now he is a disability advocate, a self-published author, and most importantly a beautiful person who is making a difference
