The inner struggle

This is a very interesting one for many reasons, it starts off by me reacting to a Joe Rogan interview with the Country Star Jelly Roll, and how his story really inspired me to want more in life, and it made me want to obtain my goals so much more. Then I discuss the turmoil, and the issues that I'm having at work, and at the time of this recording, I was still working there. I also discuss the confliction I have with trying to be a good person, why I'm so guarded, and why I can't seem to find and happiness.

I met Roman a while back, and he seem to be a guy that was very serious about his workout regimen, and had an ultimate goal to help those who struggle to get in shape. What Made him Decide to Help People? When he saw his grandfather and a close family friend pass away due to serious health problems due to cancer and unhealthy eating habits He knew he didn't want the same exact thing to happen all over again to the people he knew and love (from his friends, family) and even to the whole entire world population! He figured he'd take it upon himself to help transform people's lives one body at a time and to ultimately help transform the world! What Got him Into Fitness and Nutrition? When he was 15 years old he saw his younger brother lifting weights which helped inspire him to do the same. he also wanted to get a 6 pack and had a STRONG desire to want to live longer and just be healthier in general. His old ways of eating whatever he laid eyes on and sitting around playing video games just didn't cut it for him anymore and he wanted to make a SERIOUS lifestyle change! The rest is history!

Donna was someone who reached out to me on Instagram at a time where I needed to hear something positive and motivating for what I was doing with my advocacy, and she did so by letting me know how much she enjoyed what I was doing, and that she wanted to be a guest on the show. She says she is a survivor of many things, parental abandonment, addiction, child abuse, multiple incidences of sexual abuse, and so much more. She is now dipping her toes in the water of being very vocal about everything she's been through, but she's always been an advocate, and a spokesman for those who go through mental health, and trauma. She like I can be very rough around the edges, but please don't misunderstand her, she is a wonderful, strong, beautiful, and amazing person who deserves better than what she's gotten from life so far, but no matter what happens, she will always continue to fight. Her story has so many challenges even a car accident, multiple conditions that impact her daily life, being homeless at one point, and again much more

Amy Thurman was a former social worker, and educated at the university level, so it really good that she cared so much to help people. Life took a turn for the worst in 2014 when she woke up one night in a lot of pain. She had passed out landed on her face, and had caused major damage to her self. She ended up with a sheared brainstem, a traumatic brain injury, and a broken neck that went undetected for six months. We talk so much about all the damage that had been caused, all the recovery time, and the guilt that came with it because she had missed so much time with her family just recovering. We talk about the depression, and her hitting rock bottom to the point where she no longer wanted to continue with life. I we then discuss how she pulled it all together, and found her self, her true self.

She may be wheelchair-bound, but she is a very determined young lady, and I see big things in her future.

Talia what is a girls recommended to me, and I'm very glad she was. She is legally blind ,a disability advocate, and a licensed massage therapist. We discuss her upbringing, her diagnosis, and how are visual impairment came about, mental health, and how it has affected her over the years, and we go in depth on her career, and her passion, for helping those with visual impairment and blindness. One of the conversations that hit me, was when she was told she couldn't raise a kid, while being legally blind, and how that inspired her to get into the massage therapist field.

James cox is a guy I completely hit it off with, he is so positive, and determined. He has the condition, cerebral palsy, and though he has had his share of struggles, his determination and passion always wins out in the end? James lives on his own, works, has his own podcast, and continues to thrive, despite his disability. He wants to be an example that there's no stopping you have a disability, get rid of the excuses, and overcome your fears.

When trying to write Katherine's episode description, I came across her bio on podmatch, and I figured I just use that because it is the best description of her, she really is a kind person, and I'm so happy to have gotten to know her.
From being the little girl who played HR (even firing her mother when she was five years old) and sold shares in her "company" to running a successful People Operations consulting business and speaking internationally while battling more diagnoses than most 70-year-olds, she has had quite the journey. She wouldn't have it any other way! She is neurodiverse (Bipolar, OCD, Misophonia) and physically diverse (multiple diagnoses including a seizure disorder) and I am successful WITH my diagnosis, not in spite of them. Her neurodiversity is my superpower! Her missions are inclusion, innovation, and integrity. I enjoy speaking and providing actionable advice about diversity and inclusion, innovative hiring, HR Tech, entrepreneurship, neurodiversity, and general empowerment. Katherine is energetic and enjoys using comedy, but beware!... she also is very bold and while she can undoubtedly filter her language, she always tells it how it is, and wouldn't have it any other way. She has spoken for United Nations delegates through AIMS, the London School of Business, SHRM, HR Disrupter Summit, Web Summit, and many podcasts.
